If the Truth be Known
It
became known across the many mountains and valleys of everywhere that from birth we all
carry a piece of the puzzle inside of us. A birthright. A gift for all. Truth would
be revealed to each if all were simply willing to share with the others what was already theirs
to give.
All
were encouraged to reflect upon this knowing so that the community might receive the gift that was
theirs to give.
A
gathering was called. A date in the
coming spring was set for all to bring their singular pieces together. That
which had eluded them since the beginning was finally within their grasp.
Each and all set upon their task in anxious delight. Each worked well into the night to craft their piece of the puzzle with its unique shape, unique color, a unique portion of the message inscribed.
Each and all set upon their task in anxious delight. Each worked well into the night to craft their piece of the puzzle with its unique shape, unique color, a unique portion of the message inscribed.
Except
she.
For
all her praying, for all her pacing, for all the love welling up inside her tiny
body, she could not conjure a puzzle piece as everyone else had.
Everyone.
Everyone
except she.
As
that day in spring arrived she was left with nothing.
No
knowing.
No
gift.
No
one in sight.
They
were all at the gathering, each reverently interlocking their piece with those of the
others.
As
that day of gathering grew long the silence around her called her forward. She had become curious to leave her mountain
top in order to gaze upon what the others have made.
In
spite of her lingering disappointment.
In
spite of her embarrassment.
In spite of the great distance to travel.
In spite of the great distance to travel.
She
came upon the great gathering only to find the faithful in a state of muttering
disbelief. Confusion had confined the
thoughts of the many after each had interlocked their piece with the others with ease. After everyone beheld the perfection of their creation. After all had been invited forward to decipher the message
before them.
No
one could.
No
one did.
No
one understood that which had become.
She,
being the last to enter, approached the great creation as everyone around her fell
silent, abandoned. In a knowing that only she could
share, she solved the great mystery for all who had gathered by simply saying,
“you have it upside
down”
And
so it was.
So
now we know.
The
Truth be known when all have shared even unto she who only understood upon
her arrival.
